ABOUT

Yana Beylinson is a NYC-based artist concentrating on representing nature through powerfully rendered paintings. Either purely botanical or representational, the artwork is tied closely to a specific time and place.  Each is a meditation on a specific emotional experience.

Deep reverence for nature, for its infinite complexity and variety, is a constant theme. The viewer is pulled into the luminosity and shapes of florals. Introduction of humans within the landscape embodies and intensifies the intended emotional charge.

Yana is widely known for her distinct graphic art - adorning book covers, walls, and multiple products with a broad international client base. She has worked with Wyndham Hotels, Crabtree & Evelyn, National Geographic, Food & Wine Magazine, Macy's, Fab.com, and many others. Her work appears across the globe from USA and Canada to Hong Kong, Bahrain, Mexico, France, England, Switzerland, etc.
Mostly self-taught, Yana has studied at Baruch College, School of Visual Arts and New York Academy of Art.
She lives and works in NYC.

Lorena Kloosterboer on Yana Beylinson:

"Yana Beylinson is a Russian artist whose colorful paintings of floral and botanical forms—often painted on circular supports—have a distinctly contemporary appeal hovering gracefully between realism and abstraction. Beylinson’s artwork is primarily based on emotions and memories of places and times which she skillfully translates into bold colors and shapes, capturing the sublime elegance of flora’s precious gifts. Beylinson implements loose, thick brushstrokes that look accidental but are, in fact, quite premeditated and intentional in nature. She carefully avoids overworking the paint to keep it looking fresh and bright."
